About ATM Kids
ATM Kids is a local-first family app for chores, rewards, wish lists, and simple money tracking. Your family’s data stays on your device. There is no cloud account or subscription — just a free trial, then an optional one-time lifetime unlock.
Quick answers
I’m new — how do I get started?
- Download ATM Kids and tap Get started.
- Complete Parent Setup with a local name or nickname. No email or account is required.
- Add your child and set a parent PIN.
- Explore chores, rewards, and wish lists together.
How does the free trial work?
You can try everything free for 7 days. After that, you’ll need a one-time lifetime purchase to keep using the App. There is no monthly subscription.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open the paywall from the parent area and tap Restore Purchase. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID.
Where is my family’s data stored?
On your device. ATM Kids does not sync your children’s chores, balances, or wish lists to our servers.
Can I use ATM Kids on more than one device?
ATM Kids stores your family’s data locally on your device and doesn’t automatically sync between devices. If you’re moving to a new device, you can transfer your data using an encrypted backup.
How do backups work?
From the parent area, open Backup & data → Save a backup copy.
Create and confirm a backup password with at least 8 characters. After you confirm with your parent PIN or Face ID, the iOS save sheet opens so you can save the encrypted .atmkids file to Files, iCloud Drive, or another location you control.
You need both the file and its password to restore on a new phone. ATM Kids does not store or recover backup passwords.
A backup includes your children, balances, chores, wish lists, profile photos, parent settings, and the original trial status saved with the family.
Backups are manual. ATM Kids does not back up automatically.
I lost my phone or got a new phone — what now?
If you saved a backup file and remember its password, install ATM Kids on the new device and choose Restore from backup. Select the file, enter its password, and preview the family, children, included items, saved date, and trial or purchase status before confirming.
Restoring replaces all ATM Kids data currently on that device. It keeps the trial’s original start date, so restoring a backup does not restart or extend a trial. A lifetime purchase is verified separately through Apple; use Restore Purchase if prompted after your family data is restored.
If you did not create a backup, we cannot recover your family data. That’s why we recommend saving a backup before changing devices.
What’s the difference between my parent PIN and my backup password?
- Parent PIN: unlocks the parent area on your current device
- Backup password: unlocks an encrypted backup file
They protect different things and may be different.
How do I delete everything on this device?
Parent area → Backup & data → Delete all data on this device.
This permanently erases local family data and resets the App. It cannot be undone without a backup.
Can my child use the App alone?
Children can use the kid side of the App, but setup, purchases, backups, and sensitive settings require a parent. We recommend keeping your parent PIN private.
I’m not receiving notifications
Check:
- Notification permission for ATM Kids in iOS Settings
- Notification preferences inside the App
- Do Not Disturb or Focus modes on your device
Amazon links in the App
Kids see which wish list items they can afford and how much more they need to save. When they choose “Use my money,” ATM Kids deducts the amount and adds the item to the parent’s “To buy” list. Only Parents may see Amazon search links for wish list items. ATM Kids asks for confirmation before opening Amazon in your browser or the Amazon app. Kids do not see or open retailer links, and purchases happen on Amazon—not inside ATM Kids.
